Brand Strategy

For almost four decades, the National Academy of Social Insurance has united top experts to strengthen Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and other social insurance programs. Why the Moment Mattered

Renewing a legacy for modern leadership

As new leadership sought to strengthen the nation’s commitment to social insurance, the Academy needed a brand that honored its legacy while meeting the urgency of today’s challenges. With an outdated visual identity and inconsistent storytelling, the organization lacked a cohesive way to speak to emerging audiences. New leadership created a rare moment to modernize the brand without losing the credibility and trust built over four decades.

How the Vision Took Shape

Designing a cohesive, future-facing identity

The CareWorks Project partnered with the Academy to shape a unified visual and narrative system grounded in clarity, credibility, and accessibility. Through collaborative workshops and iterative design, we developed a modern brand platform—refined logo (created and refreshed as part of this process by Kristin Broek), color palette, typography, templates, and event collateral—that bridges legacy and innovation. The result is an identity that strengthens the Academy’s public voice everywhere it shows up, from flagship conferences to digital communications.

What Was Delivered

A visual identity that balances authority and approachability

The refreshed brand brings cohesion and clarity to the Academy—aligning teams, strengthening credibility, and elevating engagement across platforms. The result is a modern, unified identity that honors legacy, resonates with new audiences, and reinforces the Academy’s role as a trusted, forward-looking leader.

Similarly, clients seeking brand strategy support gain with The CareWorks Project a cohesive, modern identity that strengthens credibility, alignment, and visibility across every touchpoint—helping them honor their legacy while leading with confidence into what’s next.
